Whether you are new to the stage or flexing your established creative muscles, this workshop is designed to build skills from whatever level you begin. Our goal is to introduce want-to-be thespians to performing AS WELL AS provide opportunities for established performers to strengthen their weak points. You will be challenged by the strengths of your peers in some areas and have the opportunity to lead in your areas of strength.

Singing work is structured within a musical theater sensibility, preparing performers to interpret lyrics in a dramatic stage context. Students focus on vocal technique as well as song interpretation.

Movement and dance begin with body awareness. Participants work on basics (flexibility, agility, coordination) and are introduced to various styles of dance. Important connections between movement and acting are explored. Body awareness and breath support shared with voice work (both speaking and singing) are also developed.

Since, the story line of the show each year is generally carried by these participants, this session will spend more time on the acting component.

There are two night-time components for ages 12 and older:

  • 12 to 17 year olds from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM on M/W/F - Tuition is $175.00 per participant
  • 16 to 600 year olds from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM on M/W - Tuition is $75.00 per participant
The earlier session is the most intensive. This is the group that has the greatest amount of numbers and stage time. It is from this group that we pull interns to help mentor the younger students on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Participants meet three nights a week for three hours with the opportunity for more, individual and smaller group meetings. This year we are again augmenting the program with the addition of set and prop construction.

The later session is for those with time constraints. People from all walks of life and at every level of ability are a part of this group. These individuals will also have the chance to break out into smaller numbers and possibly solos, to be rehearsed outside of the scheduled time slot.
